
Tanner Henderson scored three times in the first ten minutes, and the Todd County Central boys’ soccer team needed only one half to dispatch Monroe County 10-0 in Monday’s 4th Region quarterfinal.
After Henderson’s flurry to open the match, Charlie Campbell scored off an assist from John Ross Cardwell before Chris Salazar bent in a corner kick to make it 5-0.
Henderson tacked on two more goals off assists from Salazar before Sam Perez scored with help from Alex Figueroa.
Kollin Ensign and Cole Gilbert each found the back of the net for the first time this season to round out the scoring for the Rebels.
Henderson’s big night took his team-high goal tally to 34. Salazar added five assists to run his season haul to 24.
Cardwell finished with a pair of assists, and goalkeeper John Mark Campbell didn’t make a save on the way to his eighth shutout of the season.
The Rebels advanced to a semifinal matchup against Bowling Green on Tuesday, the state’s only undefeated team. The Purples knocked off Barren County 8-0 on Monday and have only conceded five goals this season.
