The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors hit the road Friday night for their first preseason scrimmage of the 2024-2025 basketball season. The Warriors won a quarter, tied a quarter, and lost two quarters in the scrimmage against New Covenant.
For the total scrimmage, New Covenant outscored the Warriors 78-73.
Each team scored 17 in the first quarter. HCA then outscored New Covenant 21-15 in the second.
New Convenant’s offense would turn out to be the difference over the next two quarters. They would win the quarters 21-17 and 25-18.
A big night for Heritage Christian senior Jason Leek as he finished the scrimmage with 48 points. Samuel Thompson was the other Warrior to get to double figures with 11 points.
Jon Ray was the leading scorer for New Covenant, finishing the scrimmage with 38 points.
