Dawson Springs split a pair of scrimmage tilts Saturday afternoon in Marion.

The Panthers rolled to a 44-10 victory over host Crittenden County, but then fell to Paducah Tilghman 47-42.

Dawson built a big lead early against the Rockets while posting the win.

The Panthers used a balanced scoring attack, with Montgomery Johnston and Rex Blue each getting 10 points while Deacon Dever had eight. Easton Bourland and Jaydon Plunkette tallied six points apiece and Micah Washburn had two.

The Panthers were then competitive with a talented Tilghman team and were as close as three points late. However, the Blue Tornado opened up a double-digit lead late in the scrimmgae before the Panthers closed the final margin to five points.

Plunkette topped the Dawson scoresheet in that game with 17 points. Blue had nine and Johnston eight. Dever and Bourland added seven points each.

The Panthers will open the regular season on Dec. 2 with a home date against Christian Fellowship School.
