The Lyon County Lady Lyons made it three wins in a row in impressive fashion Thursday night. The Lady Lyons went on the road to Dixon and cruised to a 71-43 win over the Webster County Lady Trojans.
The Lady Lyons’ versio of ‘The Three Amigos’, sophomores Piper Cotham, Courtney Collins, and Trinity Taylor combined to score 52 points in the win.
Lyon County got off the bus ready to roll, outscoring the Lady Trojans 20-12 in the opening quarter.
The Lady Lyons exploded to put the game away in the second quarter. Piper Cotham scored 14 as Lyon County put up 31 points in the second and ran the lead out to 51-23 at the half.
Lyon County kept rolling in the third and got the game to running clock status, pushing the lead out to 69-33 going into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Lyons were paced by Trinity Taylor with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Piper Cotham added 17 points. Courtney Collins chipped in with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Lilly Perry had 9 points and Jenna Coursey 8.
Webster County was led by Jaycie Wright with 17 points. Hannah Yates and Hailey Thurbay had 7 points each.
Lyon County (4-1) is back on the court Saturday in the McCracken County Holiday Hoopla against Massac County.
