Rex Blue and Montgomery Johnston combined for 52 points to earn Dawson Springs a berth in the 2nd Region All A Classic semifinals.
The Panthers turned back Livingston Central 76-49 in first round action Wednesday night in Dawson Springs.
The Panthers (8-6) will next face Caldwell County (9-5) in the semis, which are now set for Thursday night at Panther Gym. Dawson and Caldwell will play the late semifinal game at 7:30.
The Panthers never trailed against Livingston Central after scoring the first five points of the night and opening the game with an 8-1 run.
Dawson led 17-12 after one quarter, but saw Livingston get close early in the second period.
However, the Panthers responded quickly, pushing their lead out to 28-15 following a steal and layup by Johnston at the 4:57 mark.
Johnston added a 3-pointer just before halftime as Dawson went to the intermission with a 39-21 advantage.
A 3 by Blue made it 46-21 early in the second half, and the Panthers were well on their way to the victory.
Easton Bourland added 10 points for Dawson Springs.
Meanwhile, Blue and Johnston were just one rebound shy of posting matching double-doubles. Blue pulled down 15 boards while Johnston had nine.
Blue finished the night with 28 points while Johnston had 24.
Deacon Dever had six points and seven rebounds.
For Livingston, Bryson Walker had 12 points while Avery Zaim and Jase Paris each had nine points.
The Cardinals (3-8) continue to be without Logan Wring, who was scoring over 13 points and grabbing over eight rebounds a game before being injured early in the season.
Dawson has taken four straight from Livingston.
The semifinals of the boys’ 2nd Region All A Classic were pushed up one day because of expected snowfall on Friday.
