Anaysia Bagwell knocked down four three-pointers and finished with a game-high 25 points to lead the Christian County Colonels to a 68-29 victory over hosts Hopkinsville on Thursday in both teams’ 8th District opener.
The Lady Colonels avenged an overtime loss in last season’s district title game to improve to 10-8. Hopkinsville slipped to 3-7 with its fourth-straight loss ahead of a visit from Paducah Tilghman on Monday.
Bagwell knocked down a pair of three-pointers and Ne’Vaeh Day added six points to help Christian County to a 13-5 advantage after the first quarter.

Bagwell added eight in the second frame and Carliah Hobson scored six to send Christian County to the locker room with a 31-17 lead.
After the break, the Lady Colonel defense continued to suffocate the Lady Tigers, holding them to 11 second-half points. Bagwell connected on two more from behind the arc and Lazarie Daniel scored seven to stretch the margin to 28 points with a quarter to play.
Alicia Davis scored eight points in the second half to reach double figures for Hopkinsville. LeeLee Love finished with eight, and no other Lady Tiger had more than three.

Day just missed a double-double for the Lady Colonels with 18 points and nine rebounds.
Christian County will head to Elkton on Monday for a second matchup with Todd County Central. The Lady Colonels cruised to a 22-point win in the first meeting with the Lady Rebels.
