She is one of the area’s top soccer players and is a big part of the University Heights Academy girls’ track and field team. Between the fall and spring sports seasons, you will find her supporting fellow student-athletes at UHA by being a member of the cheerleading squad.

If all of that weren’t enough, sophomore Kendall Hancock is a standout in the classroom and in both her school community and the community at large. All reasons she is the latest to be named a Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A.’

On the soccer field, there aren’t many that can hold a candle to what she has done in her young career. During her sophomore season in 2024, she scored 49 goals and assisted on 16 others for a Lady Blazer team that finished 15-4-0 and reached the All A state quarterfinals and the semifinals of the 2nd Region tournament.

The 49 goals she scored tied her for 4th in total goals scored during the 2024 season. The 16 assists tied her for 25th in the state.

In the spring of 2024, Kendall was a part of three different relay teams that competed in the state track and field meet. The 1600-meter relay team finished in eighth place with a season-best time of 4:22.46. The 800-meter relay team was ninth in 1:51.34. Their time was a season-best and the third-fastest in school history by less than two seconds. The 3200-meter relay team came in 12th place in a season-best effort of 10:54.57.

However, Kendall is more than just outstanding on the field of competition.

Kendall has been involved with the Kentucky Youth Assembly program and was a bill writer. KYA is an expanded, educational opportunity in which students serve as part of a model state government. It offers students the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their beliefs while engaging constructively with their peers from around the Commonwealth.

With her strength academically, Kendall has been a member of the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is an organization for high schoolers, that promotes leadership, service, character, and scholarship. Students in grades 9-12 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 are eligible to apply for membership into the National Honor Society. To gain admission, students must show academic commitment, leadership experience, and good character.

Kendall has been active in Beta at University Heights. Beta is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. For more than 80 years Beta has prepared students to be tomorrow’s leaders. Beta seeks to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

Involvement is a big part of what makes this young lady a leader of tomorrow. Kendall has been involved with the Key Club. Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. Members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities and learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects, and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district, and international levels.

She has also been involved with the Interact Club with Rotary International.

Kendall’s abilities have been recognized by her teachers. She was selected by her teachers to serve on the Student2Student Peer Team with the Military Child Education Coalition – a program that works with new students from military families.

Somehow, she also finds time to be involved with the Fellowship of Christian Students, is a sophomore class representative on the UHA Student Council, and is a part of the yearbook staff.

Outside of school, Kendall is part of the Student Ministry at New Work Fellowship and is a member of Sub Deb I.

As for her future, Kendall hopes to play collegiate soccer. After college, it could be off to dental school as she is looking at a career in dentistry. Now that is a career with some bite to it.

Whether in competition, the classroom, or the community, Kendall Hancock is quite the special young lady and all of these things add up to another great Chick-fil-A ‘Triple A’ student-athlete.
