
Madisonville-North Hopkins quarterback Kanyon Johnson has made his decision in regard to his athletic and educational future. In a social media post late Thursday night, Johnson announced that he had committed to play football at the University of Indianapolis.
During his senior season, Johnson finished with 1115 yards passing with 10 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He was also the team’s second-leading rusher with 141 carries for 1228 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Johnson helped to lead the Maroons to a 7-4 record and a berth in the Class 4A playoffs.
The University of Indianapolis is an NCAA Division II school and plays in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Greyhounds finished the 2024 season at 10-2 overall, 8-0 in the GLVC. UIndy lost to #5 Grand Valley State in the opening round of the Division II playoffs.
