Addison Middleton-Mobley won Caldwell County’s first state indoor track and field medal on Wednesday at the KHSAA Class 1A State Indoor Games at the Norton Sports and Learning Center in Louisville.
The sophomore finished in sixth place in the 55-meter dash in 7.80 seconds, with her lean at the finish edging two others with the same time.
She also finished in 21st place in the 200 meters in 29.49 seconds.
Middleton-Mobley also competed in a field event, taking 12th place in the triple jump with a distance of 29-feet 8.25 inches.
Her medal podium trip was good for a 27th-place finish in the team standings.
The outdoor season begins in less than two weeks as Caldwell County hosts its invitational on March 15.
