
Four Daviess County pitchers combined to limit Trigg County to just two runs over eight innings of exhibition play as the Panthers traveled to Cadiz and picked up a 12-2 scrimmage win Monday evening.
The Wildcat runs came in the bottom of the fourth and in the bottom of the eighth.
Daviess County scored a run in the first, two more in the third, a run in the fifth, two in the sixth, one in the seventh, and then 5 runs in the top of the 8th after several substitutions had been made by both teams.
Trigg County got solid efforts from pitchers Aidon Butts and Chase Hampton. Butts went 2 innings, giving up one run on one hit, striking out five and walking one. Hampton went 2 ⅔-innings, giving up three runs, none of them earned, on one hit, striking out four and walking one.
At the plate, Brody Calhoun was 2 of 2 with an RBI. Bentley Reynolds and Aidon Butts added one hit each for Trigg County.
