Todd County Central had won five in a row while the Logan County Cougars had won four in a row coming into their big 13th District baseball matchup Monday evening in Elkton. Led by a strong pitching performance from Tate McLean, it was the Cougars who kept their winning streak alive with a 10-0 six-inning win over the Rebels.
McLean allowed Todd County Central just two hits for the game, a single from Aidan Bobbett and a single from Conner Wheeler.
The game was just 2-0 heading into the top of the fifth. A Rebel error opened the door for the Cougars to score four runs, pushing the lead out to 6-0.
Two more errors in the top of the sixth allowed Logan County to put the game away with four more runs as the lead grew to 10-0. For the game, Todd County Central was charged with four fielding miscues.
The loss drops the Rebels to 8-4 for the year.
The same two teams will play Tuesday night in Russellville. a
