
Trigg County produced a top-five finish at the Fenton Dawson Girls Memorial Cross Country Invitational that was run Saturday at the Trigg Recreation Complex.
Veyda Grinols, who competes in both basketball and softball, completed her first cross country race in 20th place with a time of 24:11 over the 3.1-mile course.
Freshman Sofia Quinteros came in 23rd place in 24:27. Luci Quinteros was 45th in 27:42, and Ella Dollison came in 46th place in 27:43.
Junior Allayah Hargrove rounded out the scoring for Trigg County with a 50th-place finish in 29:14.
As a team, Trigg County’s total of 139 was 30 points behind Apollo. Graves County and Northwest tied with the low score of 49, but Graves County took first place thanks to the finish of its 6th runner.
Jade Green of Murray was the individual winner.
