
Webster County produced a pair of top ten finishes to help the Trojans finish in fifth place at Saturday’s Logan County Cougar Run in Russellville. The event gave schools a chance to see the course that will host next month’s region meet.
Junior Landon Higdon was the first Trojan across the line in seventh place in a time of 17:09. It was his fourth top 10 finish of the season.
Maddox Hibbs came in 10th place with a time of 18:11 over the 3.1-mile course. The top 10 finish was his fourth of the season.
Liam Ferris came in 40th place with a time of 19:52, while Eli Stone was 65th in 20:52. The top 10 finish was his fourth of the season.
Daan Wiley ran a 21:13 to finish in 77th place, with Seth Pirtle 117th in 23:13 and Harley Velasquez 128th in 23:44.
Freshman Isaac Canterbury was 141st in 24:58, and 7th grader Spencer Reeves rounded out the scoring with a 152nd-place finish in 26:04.
Heath Daugherty was 164th in 27:22.
Webster County totaled 177 points to finish four points behind 4th-place Muhlenberg County and 15 points ahead of 6th-place Trigg County.
Webster County was second among Class 2A teams behind only Union County.
