Caldwell County flirted with a school record Saturday night while rolling to an 86-45 victory at Crittenden County.
Playing for the first time in eight days because of weather cancellations, the Tigers got off to a quick start offensively.
Caldwell (9-9) opened the game with 14 straight points as part of a 27-3 run to start the contest.
Crittenden (1-21) finished the first quarter with a 7-2 burst to make it 29-10 after 8 minutes.
But the Tigers used a 32-13 advantage in the second period to build a 61-23 lead at halftime.
Much of Caldwell’s first-half success came thanks to a 10-for-15 showing from 3-point range.
The second half was played with a running clock, with both teams substituting liberally as Caldwell finished the night with a 41-point victory.

The Tigers made three more 3-pointers in the second half —leaving them one short of the school record for a single game.
Caldwell made 14 3-pointers against Hopkinsville on Jan. 23, 2007.
The Tigers also had 13 3s in a game versus Reidland on Jan. 30, 2003.
Caldwell had one of its most balanced scoring nights of the season.
Pax Aikins had 16 points while Landon Mitchell added 14, Daelyn Lander 13 and Dayton Wilson 11. Jase Sigler had nine points and Yvenson Thomas seven.
Aikins had four 3-pointers while Lander and Sigler each had three shots from behind the arc. Wilson had a pair of 3s while Thomas added one.
Brady Dayberry led Crittenden with nine points.
The Tigers have taken their last five meetings with the Rockets and 11 of the last 12 matchups.

Caldwell has a home makeup date against 7th District foe Madisonville-North Hopkins on Tuesday.
Crittenden will go to 5th District rival Trigg County on Tuesday.
The Tigers and Rockets will meet again Feb. 9 in Princeton.
