
Trigg County scored at least three runs in every inning and got a lockdown pitching effort from Tember Oliver as the Lady Wildcats crushed Paducah Tilghman 17-3 Friday evening in the team’s final scrimmage before the official opening day of the softball season Monday.
Oliver got the start in the circle and went 3 ⅔ innings, giving up no runs on just one hit, striking out seven and walking one.
Trigg scored four runs in the first and four more in the second. The Lady Wildcats then scored 3 runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings.
Several Trigg hitters had big games at the plate. Veyda Grinols, Kady Fuller, Tember Oliver, Livia Breckel, and EmmaLee Futrell all had two hits each for Trigg County, which pounded out 14 total for the game. Grinols had two doubles.
Fuller and Jazzy Tejada finished with 3 RBIs each. Tejada’s came on a monster three run blast to center in the bottom of the third inning. Grinols, Breckel, Futrell, Lily Eagleson, and Jayden Visingardi all finished with two RBIs each.
