The Christian County Lady Colonels finished in 15th place at the Invitational of the South at Marshall County High School on Saturday.
The Lady Colonels scored 15 points to finish one point behind 14th-place Graves County and 1.5 points behind Henderson County.
Running Events
The Lady Colonels opened the meet with steady efforts in the 100-meter preliminaries. Genesis McGee led the group with a season-best 14.44, while Kacsidy Quarles followed closely with a season-best 14.48. Saniyah McCombs added a time of 14.96.
In the 200 meters, Christian County placed three runners in the field, led by Aaliyah Bell, who finished 18th with a personal-best 30.35. Jakiyah Oatts followed in 20th with a 30.50, and Kaliyah Leavell added a 27th-place finish in 31.18.
The Lady Colonels also had a strong showing in the 400 meters, where all three runners posted personal-best times. Seventh-grader Mia Gbemudu led the way with a 24th-place finish in 1:12.30, while Shyla Haverstick followed in 25th with a personal-best 1:12.60. Imani Cushenberry, also a seventh-grader, finished 27th in 1:13.20, another personal best.
In the distance races, Aubree Cline led Christian County in both the 800 and 1600 meters. Cline ran a season-best 3:12.07 in the 800 and followed that with a 13th-place finish in the 1600 in a season-best 7:25.11.
In the hurdles, Aaliyah Bell added another strong effort by finishing 12th in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal-best 21.32. Saniyah McCombs also competed in the 300-meter hurdles, finishing in 1:03.21.
The 1600 relay team posted the top relay finish for the Lady Colonels, placing sixth in 5:02.80. The 800 relay team followed with a ninth-place finish in 2:01.61, and the 4100 relay team of Kacsidy Quarles, Kaliyah Leavell, Genesis McGee, and Adreyona Smith finished 10th in 55.74.
Field Events
Carlie Hobson finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 29-4, and followed in 15th with a mark of 26-5.
In the discus, Hobson added another top-10 result by placing ninth with a throw of 75-5. Adreyona Smith recorded a personal-best 70-0 to finish 15th, and Carliah Hobson added a throw of 61-1.
In the jumps, Kaliyah Leavell led the Lady Colonels in the long jump with a season-best 12-5 for 15th place. Destiny Lewis also posted a season-best 10-6.5 to finish 24th.
