Blazers Rebound From Thursday Loss by Blasting Alton

After getting handled on their home field Thursday night by Logan County, the UHA Blazers decided to take out their frustrations. The Alton Redbirds just happened to be the team to pick the wrong night to run into the Blazers.

The Blazers erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to break open a competitive game on the way to a 15-3 five-inning win.

UHA was up 5-1 when the roof fell in on the Illinois visitors. The Blazers took full advantage of seven walks and an error to score ten runs in the inning. Haydon Hunt had the big hit of the inning with a two-run homer to center. Cadence Gibson added a three-run double during the big rally.

The Blazers (9-2) scored their 15 runs on just eight hits. UHA was the beneficiary of 11 walks from Alton pitching.

Haydon Hunt had a big night, going 3-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Cadence Gibson was 1-3 with a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored. A.J. Hogart added a home run for the Blazers.

On the mound, Jackson Flynn started and got the win. He went four innings, giving up one run on four hits, striking out six, and walking one.
