
Ava Prow struck out six and scattered nine base hits to lead Lyon County’s girls to a 5-1 win at Crittenden County in 2nd Region All A Classic softball action on Monday.
Meanwhile, Olivia Moore was 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in to lead the Lady Lyon offense.
Lyon (13-4) will next face Fort Campbell (1-2) in Tuesday’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal in Marion. The Lady Falcons wound up with a first-round bye after initially drawing University Heights Academy. UHA does not have a softball team this season.
Audrey Akridge went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI for Lyon against Crittenden (8-6).
Jenna Coursey doubled home a run in the first inning to put Lyon up 1-0.
Addie Guess had an RBI groundout in the second inning. That was followed by Akridge’s run-scoring double to extend Lyon’s lead to 3-0.
Moore knocked in a run with a double in the third to make it 4-0.
Moore doubled home another run with two outs in the fifth to put Lyon up 5-0.
Crittenden broke up the shutout in the bottom of the sixth when Anna Boone tripled with one out and scored on a single to center by Elle McDaniel.
McDaniel finished 2-for-3 with the RBI for the Lady Rockets.
