Lady Rebels Have Their ‘Gamm-On’ in Win Over Escambia

A big win to wrap up their Spring Break trip to Florida Friday night for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels. After falling behind early, the Lady Rebels scored 12 unanswered runs to take a 12-2 six-inning win over Escambia.

Escambia took advantage of a Todd County Central error in the bottom of the first to score a pair of runs and take a 2-0 lead. But from that point, it was all Lady Rebels.

The Lady Rebel bats got going in the third, scoring five runs. The big blows in the inning were a two-run homer from Naomi Gammon and a solo shot from Addison Woodall. Todd Central added a run in the top of the fourth to extend the lead to 6-1.

The Lady Rebels then put the game away for good with five more runs in the top of the fifth. Naomi Welborn and Naomi Gammon had RBI doubles in the inning. The Lady Rebels got the game to the 10-run rule with Naomi Gammon’s second home run of the night in the top of the sixth.

Gammon finished the game 4-4 with two home runs, two doubles, four RBIs, and four runs scored. Olivia Weikel was 3-4 with two RBIs. Naomi Welborn ended up 2-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

In the circle, Addison Woodall went six innings, giving up two runs on just one hit, striking out 12, and walking two.
