Lady Blazers Come in 7th Place at Muhlenberg County

The University Heights Academy Lady Blazers took seventh place at the Muhlenberg County Invitational on Saturday in Greenville.

Emma Dill paced the Lady Blazers by winning the 300-meter hurdles in a season-best 51.72 and adding a runner-up finish in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.76.

UHA also got a top-five sprint finish from Ajae Oatts, who placed fourth in the 200 meters in 27.80. Harper Bolinger, an eighth-grader, added an eighth-place finish in the 100 meters with a personal-best 14.33.

The Lady Blazers’ 400-meter relay team of Emma Dill, Cassie Keller, Ajae Oatts, and Harper Bolinger placed second in a season-best 55.06. The 800-meter relay squad of Dill, Bolinger, Oatts, and Amoree Owens finished third in 2:01.15.

In the field events, Cassie Keller, a seventh-grader, picked up points in the long jump with an eighth-place finish at 12 feet, 10 inches. Rhyss Sallie competed in both throwing events and recorded personal-best marks in the discus (34-03, 18th place) and shot put (17-06, 16th place).

Owens turned in a personal-best 29.34 in the 200 meters to finish in ninth place,

The Lady Blazers had 42 points to finish three points behind sixth-place Christian County and five points behind fifth-place Crittenden County.
