The Caldwell County Lady Tigers softball team was able to start a bit of a win streak with their second win in a row on Tuesday evening against Murray High. They were able to go on the road and get the commanding 16-0 victory in just four innings.

Tink Clark hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the first to put Caldwell up 1-0, and another from Addison McDaniel in the very next inning extended that lead to two. But the third is when they were really able to break it open.

Caldwell was able to put up five runs in the inning, and it was highlighted by a pair of doubles from Alexis Wood and Evie Jo Freeman that drove in a total of three of those runs.

And they just kept going in the top of the fourth, scoring an impressive nine runs, and it was all capped off by a single from Clark to give Caldwell a 16-0 lead. And that was enough to get the victory, which is their sixth of the season.

Jackie Farmer got the start on the mound for Caldwell, and she was able to pitch all four innings. While she didn’t record a strikeout, she allowed just two hits and one walk on her way to a complete game shutout.

Clark was the leader for the Lady Tigers at the plate, as she racked up three hits and three runs batted in. Daelen Kizzee got two base knocks, while Wood, McDaniel, Ellie King, and Kayliana Bender all had two RBIs.

Caldwell will be looking to keep their win streak going in their next game against the Lady Maroons of Madisonville-North Hopkins on Thursday, April 16. Their game will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Caldwell County High School.
