The search is now getting underway for a new head boys’ basketball coach at Todd County Central High School. Walter McCombs confirmed to YourSportsEdge.Com Tuesday morning that he was stepping down as Rebels’ head coach after two seasons on the job.
McCombs says he is headed back to Bowling Green to join the Purples’ staff of D.G. Sherrill.
McCombs took over at Todd County Central just before the start of the 2024-2025 school year, replacing Russell Malone, who resigned after the 2023-2024 season.
His first team was 2-27 and fell to Logan County in the semifinals of the 13th District tournament.
This past season, the Rebels ended up 7-24, losing to Logan County in the semifinals of the 13th District tournament.
