Todd County Central faced a steady Franklin-Simpson lineup on Monday, falling 10-0 in a game that slipped away in the middle innings.
For a stretch, the Rebels stayed within reach behind starter Conner Wheeler. The right-hander worked through early innings, navigating traffic and giving his team a chance to settle in. Franklin-Simpson began to break through in the fourth. Liam Heinze’s triple brought in three runs, and the Wildcats followed with more timely contact to extend the inning.
The fifth inning created further distance. Franklin-Simpson added five runs on four hits, continuing to string together quality plate appearances. Heinze, Carson Kelley, and Jaxon Gass each played a role in keeping the line moving.
Wheeler finished his outing having allowed eight runs over four and two-thirds innings, with two strikeouts and four walks. The numbers tell part of the story, but his effort on the mound helped hold things together early against a lineup that eventually found its rhythm.

Jacob Jackson came on in relief and helped close out the game, working through the final innings and limiting additional damage while keeping the pace steady defensively.
At the plate, Todd County Central was held to two hits, with Camden McGehee and Jackson each recording one.
Franklin-Simpson finished with 11 hits, led by Heinze’s five RBIs and Kelley’s three-hit performance. The Wildcats stayed active on the bases as well, collecting six stolen bases and turning a double play defensively.
Todd County Central will be back at home Tuesday for another matchup with Franklin-Simpson.
