
On an afternoon that provided three of the four seasons and a little rain, the University Heights Academy track and field team finished in 12th place at the Area 1 Championships at Calloway County High School.
Graham Conrad placed 4th in the 1600 meters (4:46.65) and added a 13th-place finish in the 800 meters (2:17.13), while Zach Davis finished just ahead of him in 12th (2:15.29).
In the 3200 meters, Jude Finch came in fifth place in 11:04.38.
In the sprints, Ryan Luckey finished 14th in the 100 meters (11.85) and 13th in the 200 meters (24.45). Jackson Estes was 19th in the 200 (25.46), while Jack Cavanah added a personal-best 27th-place finish (27.35).
In the 400 meters, Cavanah placed 23rd (1:01.36), and Trent Simmons was 38th (1:14.28). Britton Marschand competed in the hurdles, finishing 22nd in the 300-meter hurdles (57.94).
The 1600-meter relay team placed 3rd (3:46.60), and the 3200 team finished 6th (8:53.86). The 800 relay team placed 11th (1:36.14), while the 400 relay finished 13th (52.97).
Ronan Croney-Salllie led the way in the field, finishing 11th in the triple jump (37-09.50). Jack Conrad placed 23rd in the long jump (15-04.50) and 28th in the triple jump (29-10.00).
In the discus, Callen Bowe led UHA with a 23rd-place finish (69-07), followed by Jackson Estes (24th, 68-04) and Brock Kilijian (27th, 57-01).
Bowe also placed 25th in the shot put (28-09.25), with Kilijian finishing 29th (27-08.50).
UHA scored 18 points to finish in 12th place in the 22-team field.
The Area 1 Championships is the largest non-classed event ahead of the postseason. The Blazers will run in the Class 1A Region 1 Meet on Saturday at Mayfield High School.
