Lakers Run Past Trigg County 15-5

The Calloway County Lakers hit the Trigg County Wildcats with a quick start Monday night and that was enough to make the difference in a 15-5 win in Murray. The Lakers put up eight runs in the top of the first and rolled to the five-inning win.

Calloway County scored in four of its five at bats, adding three runs in the third, one in the fourth, and then walking off the game with three more in the bottom of the fifth to reach the 10-run rule.

The Lakers were the beneficiaries of three Wildcat errors and 8 walks from Trigg County pitching.

Brody Calhoun led the Wildcats, going 2-3 with a double and two runs scored. Noah Hawkins ended up 2-2 with two RBIs and a run scored.

For the game, Calloway County outhit the Wildcats 12 to 6.
