Errors Cost Lady Rebels in Loss to Butler County

Fielding miscues would come back to bit the Todd County Central Lady Rebels Thursday night. The Lady Rebels were charged with four errors that allowed Butler County to score five unearned runs as the Lady Bears overcame an early deficit to take a 7-3 win in Elkton.

Todd County Central took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third on a two-run homer to left by Addison Woodall.

Butler County got one of those runs back on a solo shot from Emmalin Mode to open the fourth inning. The Lady Bears scored another run in the top of the fifth on a fielder’s choice.

A Lady Rebel error in the top of the sixth opened the door for Butler County to score three runs.

Naomi Welborn hit a leadoff home run in the bottom of the fifth to trim the lead to 5-3.

A pair of Todd Central errors in the top of the seventh allowed the Lady Bears to score a pair of insurance runs to put the game away.

Addison Woodall led the Lady Rebels, going 2-3 with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored. Naomi Welborn also finished 2-3 with a home run, an RBI, and a run scored. Olivia Weikel was 2-3 for Todd County Central.

In the circle, Addison Woodall started but did not get the decision. She went 3 ⅓ innings, giving up one run on four hits, striking out three and walking one.
