Hopkins County Central High School came in 8th place at the Class 2A Region 1 Track and Field Meet on Tuesday at Calloway County.
In the sprint events, Aubrey Thompson finished ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 15.01 seconds, while Stevette Combs followed in 10th at 15.44.
Shiya Whitaker added a ninth-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 32.01 seconds, while Thompson later placed 12th in the event with a time of 33.91.
In the 400-meter dash, Maria Kerby finished 11th at 1:16.73, and Anijah Couch placed 13th in 1:19.83.
Kerby also competed in the 800-meter run, placing 11th with a time of 3:14.15. Jenna Fairchild followed in 12th at 3:24.72.
Olivia Martin finished eighth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.45.
The Lady Storm relay teams each earned sixth-place finishes during the meet. The 400-meter relay finished in 1:00.30, the 800-meter relay crossed in 2:15.28, and the 1600-meter relay posted a time of 5:38.16.
In the field events, Ryalie Larson placed ninth in the long jump with a leap of 9 feet, 7 inches.
Lanyah Jiles added an 11th-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 21 feet, one-half inch.
