The Madisonville Miners were in search of their first win of the season in their Tuesday evening home game against the Fulton Railroaders. Unfortunately for the Miners, they were not able to get it, and fell to Fulton 10-6.
Madisonville stuck first in the home half of the first inning with a Kasey Lowe sacrifice fly to make it 1-0. But the Railroaders were able to answer right back, and they did so with five unanswered runs from the second to the fourth inning.
Then from the fifth all the way until the ninth, the Miners scored one run per inning. Two of those runs came from doubles, two from sac flies, and the run in the ninth came on a single. But unfortunately for Madisonville, Fulton’s offense woke up again in the final inning after being dormant for four innings.
They scored five more in the top of the ninth, which gave them a 10-5 lead at the time. And after the Miners scored just one run in their final chance at the plate, Fulton took home their first win of the season.
Trent Prosperi and Lowe were the leaders in the game for the Miners at the plate. Prosperi finished the game with a pair of base knocks in four at-bats, while Lowe led the team in runs batted in with a pair.
Madisonville will still be in search of their first win in their next game at home against the Hoptown Hoppers on Thursday, June 4. Their game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
