Caldwell County’s track and field program had two athletes named All-State by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Addison Middleton-Mobley earned Second Team All-State honors in the girls’ triple jump, while Cooper Mobley was named Second Team All-State in both the boys’ shot put and discus.
Middleton-Mobley capped her season with a fourth-place finish at the Class 1A KHSAA State Track and Field Championships, recording a jump of 32 feet, 5 inches.
Her season highlight came at the Area One Championships on May 2 when she captured the event title with a personal-best and school-record jump of 34 feet, 1 inch. The mark was more than a foot farther than her previous best.
Middleton-Mobley also claimed victories at the McCracken County Quad Meet III with a jump of 33 feet, 8 inches, and at the Chuck Gullo Twilight Relays with a mark of 32 feet, 8 inches.
She finished runner-up at the Class 1A Region 1 Championship with a leap of 32 feet, 7.5 inches and added a second-place finish during Caldwell County Senior Night.
Cooper Mobley turned in one of the more successful throwing seasons in Caldwell County history, earning Second Team All-State honors in both the shot put and discus.
At the Class 1A State Championships, Mobley placed third in the shot put with a throw of 46 feet, 11 inches and fourth in the discus with a mark of 136 feet, 10 inches.
In the shot put, Mobley surpassed the 50-foot mark three times, including a season-best throw of 51 feet, 11.5 inches to finish second at the Chuck Gullo Twilight Relays. He also won the Caldwell County Senior Night meet with a throw of 51 feet, 8 inches and was runner-up at both the Area One Championships and Region 1 Championships.
The Tiger thrower recorded top-three finishes in every shot put competition he entered during the season, including victories at McCracken County and Caldwell County Senior Night.
Mobley was equally impressive in the discus.
His season-best throw of 147 feet, 2 inches came at the Area One Championships, where he finished third. He also posted throws of 144 feet, 9 inches at the Region 1 Championships and 144 feet, 7 inches at the Chuck Gullo Twilight Relays.
He claimed victories in the discus at Caldwell County Senior Night with a throw of 142 feet, 3 inches and at the McCracken County Quad Meet III with a mark of 139 feet, 6 inches.
