'When You're Hot, You're Hot' and Will Stein is Hot

If we get both Sean Fox and Tyler Fryman that will put at #19 in rivals and #11 on 247. When we shock the world this year with one of the hardest schedules and Stein has a even better recruiting class next year and another top 10 transfer class we should have enough weapons to be able to start competing with the best of the best. This year will be a huge indicator for the future of Kentucky football. When we make a bowl game and it really doesn't matter which one just to get the freshman a extra month to practice we should see a much better team going into next year. The way I see it right now 6-6 is the floor and 8-4 is the ceiling. I honestly don't like the 9 game SEC schedule unless they start playing 13 regular season games. We need 4 non conference games because the way Brohm has Louisville playing and being a regular top 25 team that game is about like playing 10 SEC games and only 2 cupcakes. In years past when Stoops made his 8 bowl games in a row we played 4 cupcakes and 8 SEC games. So that's basically 4 for sure wins then you just have to find a way to win 2-3 games in the SEC. Stein will have it much harder seeing that Louisville is one of the best teams in the ACC then we play a gauntlet of a schedule. When Stoops was at Kentucky Louisville was down most of the time he was there. Louisville has always at least my whole life been a little better than Kentucky in football. You can ask how do you figure TJ? I'm going to say the proof is in the pudding. Remember the Florida streak where we couldn't beat Florida in football? Louisville plays them once in a bowl game and destroys them during our streak of losses. Also it wasn't unusual for Louisville to be a top 15 team in college football year in and year out. We have been a thorn in Louisville side because usually when they are predicted to be a great football team that's when we usually beat them. Like the year with Lamar Jackson vs Stephen Johnson when we upset them. Also Louisville was a top 10 team when they had Brian Brohm as the starting QB and Michael Bush as the starting tail back. We broke Michael Bush leg at the very beginning of the game and it's like they never recovered and we beat them. They had national championship hopes both seasons and it's like Kentucky crushed those dreams for them. But the last 2 years have been unacceptable. If you remember before the last 2 years where we got beat by a combined 78-14 the 4-5 years leading up to the last 2 we destroyed Louisville 4-5 times in a row and we didn't just beat them we destroyed them. I think gone are those days where either Kentucky is up or Louisville is up. Both teams are headed in the right direction in both basketball and football. We need to beat them in both sports this year. Louisville will have a slightly better basketball team and thats debatable. Most "experts have Louisville ranked in the top 12 in basketball. The same experts have us ranked in the top 20 at #16-#19. This is also preseason rankings and nobody knows what will happen until the games are played. I think both basketball and football this year will be a coin flip. Last year when we played Louisville I thought it would also be a coin flip because Louisville fell apart at the end of the year and we were on the rise at the end of the year. Stoops just got completey out coached by Brohm. Stein and Brohm are going to go to war. So far it looks like Stein is the better recruiter and he hasn't coached a game yet. Between Pope and Kelsey I think Kelsey has done a better job then Pope up to this point. Look what he took over a team that only won 12 games in 2 years. He took that toilet bowl to back to back 20+ win seasons and they had a better team then us last year. I think the teams are evenly matched so we will see who wins this year. If Pope loses this year and is 1-2 against Louisville after Calapari went 13-3 to Louisville in his 16 tries. So it's definitely a win or go home type of season for Pope. I don't care if we sign a top 5 recruiting class and we win 20+ games if we don't make at least a elite 8 run and have most of our team back in 2027-2028 then Pope needs to hit the road. We have a chance with the rule change 5 in 5 years to get everyone back off this year's team. I thought with last year us capable of getting 9-10 guys back that we would get at least 7 guys back. But to tell you the truth we needed to hit the reset button on the roster. We had to many players that worried about themself instead of the team.

Stein is going to send shock waves through the football world. In a couple years the Cats won't be playing cup cakes anymore, except for the dirty birds. Louisville is a top team in the ACC because that league is full of cup cakes.

  Yea I agree but they are still a top team in a power conference. There are only 3-4 ACC programs that could possibly compete in the SEC and I'm not saying compete for a conference championship I'm saying compete for a bowl game year in and year out.
