Cory Coble is returning to coach basketball in the Second Region after being named the head coach of the Webster County Lady Trojans on Tuesday.
Coble was 48-37 in three seasons as head coach at Union County, stepping down after the 2024-25 season. The Bravettes advanced to the region tournament in his final two seasons and played in the championship game of the Class 2A sectionals in his first season at Union County in 2022-23.
Coble was 82-89 at Trigg County before his tenure at Union County, leading the Lady Wildcats to three consecutive district championships as head coach from 2016-22.
Coble has been named the KABC Coach of the Year three times — twice at Trigg County and in 2022-23 at Union County.
Webster County was 12-19 last year and last had a winning season in 2021-22.
Earlier this month, Coble was named the Director of Human Resources and Secondary Education for Webster County Schools. One of his players will be familiar to him, his daughter Addie.
