The Caldwell County Football Hall of Fame will grow by seven members with the Class of 2026.
The list of newest Hall of Famers includes players Walter Haberlock, Josh Young, Brett Seymore, Tyler Beshear and Jimmy Don Seibert.
Haberlock was a senior on the 1980 Tiger squad that finished 7-3. He kicked a school-record 46-yard field goal at Christian County that season — a mark that stood for 33 years. The kick is still the fourth-longest in school history. Haberlock also averaged 33.5 yards a punt as a senior. Haberlock went on to play college football at Western Kentucky University.
Young was a senior on Caldwell’s 2015 team. As a freshman, Young was a member of Caldwell’s Class 2A state runner-up football team in 2012. Young is still second on the Tigers’ career receiving yardage list (2,199 yards). He is a former assistant coach for the Caldwell football team. Young played college baseball at the University of Pikeville before transferring to Murray State University and spending two years as a wide receiver on the Racer football team. Young is currently baseball head coach at Graves County and an assistant on the Eagles football team.
Seymore’s senior season was 2013. He holds virtually every Caldwell kicking record — most career field goals (16), most field goals in a season (9), most career PATs (149), most PATs in a season (83) and most consecutive PATs (75). Seymore set a then-school record with a 51-yard field goal at Green County in the 2013 season — it’s still the second-longest ever. However, his most famous field goal was a 46-yarder with 2:39 left in the game that lifted the Tigers over Murray 10-7 in the 2012 regional championship.
Beshear’s senior season was 1995. He was second on the team in receiving that year with 14 receptions for 178 yards and two touchdowns. He was fourth on the team in tackles with 59. As a junior in 1994, Beshear led the team with 28 catches for 464 yards and two scores. He was fifth on the squad with 69 tackles and had seven takeaways (four interceptions). He recorded 174 career tackles. A longtime supporter of Caldwell athletics, Beshear has also been a member of the Tiger football stat crew.
Seibert was a senior on the 1985 Caldwell squad which ended its season with a 15-7 victory at Mayfield in coach Al Giordano’s final game. Seibert was the team’s leading receiver that season, recording 32 of Caldwell’s 54 receptions. He averaged 13 yards a catch with four touchdowns. He also recorded 42 tackles in 1985 and had 43 stops as a junior in 1984. Seibert is currently the mayor of Fredonia.
Also in the Class of 2026 are Jerry Perkins and Phillip Sisk, two longtime supporters of the Tiger football team who have spent decades as members of the chain crew on the sideline at Tiger Stadium.
The new class will be honored on Oct. 23 when the Tigers host Crittenden County at Tiger Stadium.
