The South Warren Lady Spartans used a strong second half performance to hand the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers their first loss of the season Saturday. South Warren scored three unanswered goals in the second forty minutes to break a 1-1 halftime tie and take the 4-1 decision in Bowling Green.

Kendall Hancock gave UHA the early lead in the match, scoring off an assist from Harper Bolinger to put the Lady Blazers up at 1-0 less than six minutes in.

South Warren then found the net with just over two minutes to go in the half to tie things up at 1-1. That momentum would carry over into the second half for the Lady Spartans.

South scored a pair of goals in a two-minute span early in the second half to grab a 3-1 lead at the 49:20 mark.

The Lady Spartans added a goal in the waning moments of the match to get to the final three goal margin.

UHA (2-1) is set to be in action Friday night at Givens Field when they take on the Trigg County Lady Wildcats.
