Trigg County put two runners in the top 10 on Saturday and finished fourth in the girls’ team standings at the Madisonville Classic.
The Lady Wildcats scored 90 points, finishing behind team champion Fort Campbell (44), Graves County (67), and Webster County (74).
Junior Veyda Grinols led Trigg County with a fourth-place finish in 20:48. It’s the second straight week Grinols recorded a personal-best time and was the 7th fastest 5K time in school history. Lynease Byers ran a 20:23 in 2007.
Fort Campbell’s Linden Pickler won the individual title in 19:25, with Webster County’s Paisley Stone second in 20:05. Ohio County’s Lexi Hill was third in 20:37, followed by Grinols and Fort Campbell’s Liliana Ketterl, who rounded out the top five in 20:49.
Sophia Quinteros gave Trigg a second top-10 performance, finishing ninth in a personal-best 22:10.
Luci Quinteros was the third Lady Wildcat across the finish line, placing 19th in 23:46. Amanda Beckett finished 33rd in 25:36 (PB), while Alayah Hargrove completed Trigg’s scoring five with a 35th-place finish in 25:40.
Aniya Dawson was 37th overall in 25:56 (PB), while Kalin Kingston finished 56th in 29:32 (PB).
Trigg also had Allyson Hargis place 66th in 34:14, and Wanda Love-Lopez finish 68th in 34:34.
