The Caldwell County volleyball team is back to .500 after sweeping three sets from Trigg County Monday at the CAB gym in Princeton.
The Lady Tigers, now 5-5, won by scores of 25-19, 25-10, 25-23.
Caldwell ran out to a big lead in the third set before Trigg rallied late to tie things at 23-23.
However, a serve into the net by the Lady Wildcats was followed by a kill by the Lady Tigers’ Med Thomas to end the match.
Thomas finished the night with 10 kills to go along with 10 digs, an ace and an assist.
Lay Shearer recorded four kills, three blocks, a dig and an ace while Bella Pruit had four kills and four digs. Brilee Hubbard tallied three kills and a block.
Tink Clark had 19 set assists along with two kills, four digs and an ace. Maddie Cooper finished with 12 digs, a kill and two aces.
Nya McClure recorded seven digs and an ace. Courtney Kinslow had a kill and a dig. Sophie P’Pool had one kill. Macy Cotton had one assist.
Trigg is now 3-6.
The Lady Wildcats got eight kills from Cali Jones while Greyson Berthume totaled seven kills, a dig and an ace.
Lexi Mayes had 15 assists. Lilah Booth had 21 digs, two aces and two assists. Trinity Perkins recorded two kills and two aces.
Ellie Brown had a kill, four digs and an ace. Audrey Hart had a kill and nine digs. Alexis Starcher had five digs. Lilyah Glass had three aces.
Caldwell has taken 26 straight meetings with Trigg going back to the 2006 season. The Lady Tigers lead the all-time series 37-6.
Caldwell will play at home again on Tuesday when it entertains Murray High School.
Trigg’s girls will host Hopkins County Central on Thursday.
