Addison Tramble homered as part of a four-run first inning and struck out eight in the circle to lead Livingston Central to a 4-2 win over Crittenden County in the 5th District semifinals on Monday.
The Lady Cardinals will meet Trigg County in the championship game for the second straight season. The game is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:00 at Lyon County’s Lee S. Jones Park.
Victoria Joiner led off the home half of the first with a single, stole second, and scored on a Crittenden error. Tramble then followed with her second home run of the season to centerfield.
Baylee Neal added an RBI single four batters later to give Tramble all of the offense she needed.
Crittenden County added single runs in the third and fourth innings. Georgia Holeman had an RBI groundout, and Elle McDaniel followed an Anna Boone double with an RBI single in the fourth.
Crittenden threatened again when Andrea Federico reached on an error and moved to third on Boone’s second double of the game. However, Tramble pitched out of trouble by getting a pair of popouts and a groundout to end the threat.
Joiner and Neal both had two hits for the Lady Cardinals, who improved to 23-5.
Boone and McDaniel also had a pair of hits for Crittenden County, whose season ends at 10-17.
Livingston Central beat Trigg County 3-0 in last year’s championship game and will be looking for its third district title in four years when the teams meet Tuesday at 6:00.
Both teams also advance to next week’s region tournament at Webster County.
