Christian County High School opened in 1959 with the consolidation of county schools Crofton, Lacy, Pembroke, Sinking Fork, and South Christian – all of which enjoyed some form of moderate athletic success in different sports. The Colonels immediately became a region contender in several sports and boast state championships in several sports.
