Once the job posting process is complete, he could be named permanent coach.Stovall coached at Christian County for ten seasons from 2001-11 and compiled a 201-99 record. His final team at Christian County in 2011 won the school’s first state title despite losing in the Eighth District championship game.
A month after winning the state title, an emotional Stovall announced he was stepping down as head coach of the Colonels in order to watch his children play high school sports. Stovall returned to Muhlenberg County where he coached at Muhlenberg South before taking the Christian County job. He served as an assistant coach under Tony Hopper before coaching the Mustangs for the past two seasons. He was not able to replicate the same success that he had at Christian County, going 31-30 the past two seasons at Muhlenberg County.
