Baker Tells Her Story To HCA Volleyball Campers

A National Women’s Sitting Volleyball player took the time to share her story with a group of young players. Courtney Baker spoke to the Heritage Christian Academy volleyball summer camp students. Baker shared her success despite a car crash that severed her left leg. Baker says initially she was scared that she was not going be able to play volleyball.

After Baker got a prosthetic leg, she started to pursue goals she set for herself, including playing volleyball again. Overall, Baker gives credit to God for allowing her to still be alive and being able to still volleyball. Now, after college and her accident, Baker speaks to groups and competes nationally in Sitting Volleyball.

Baker lost her leg as a result of the crash on the Bluegrass Parkway, near Bardstown, on December 13, 2012. Baker was returning home for Christmas break, when she fell asleep at the wheel of her vehicle.
