FOX Sports reported early Thursday morning that former Kentucky Wildcat Isaac Humphries is signing with the Sydney (Australia) Kings. Humphries declared for the NBA Draft earlier this spring and while scoring multiple workouts with teams, failed to get drafted or signed by an NBA team when the draft concluded.
However, signing with the Kings allows the Australian native to return to his hometown to play professional basketball.
The 19-year old averaged just over 2 points and 2 rebounds per contest in his second season for Kentucky and shot just over 50% from the field. He did, however, have a big game in UK’s NCAA Tournament loss to North Carolina. The Aussie posted 12 points and 5 rebounds in just 21 minutes.
If his play continues to rise, don’t be surprised if some NBA scouts give him an opportunity down the road.
