Christian County scored two late goals to beat Grayson County 2-1 in a girls’ soccer scrimmage Monday at the Stadium of Champions. After a scoreless first half, Grayson scored the first goal of the game 18 minutes into the second half.
Briana Rubio tied the game at 1-1 three minutes later. With less than a minute left, Rubio took a pass from Drew Hancock and found Mackenzie Almy on the left side who then fired one over the goalie’s head for the game-winner over Grayson, who went 13-7 last year.
Christian County hosts another Third Region squad Tuesday night as Ohio County visits the Stadium of Champions for a 6pm scrimmage.
