The Caldwell County Lady Tigers have their sights set on an All A state volleyball championship, as they head off to northern Kentucky this weekend. The Lady Tigers, who are 9-5 on the season, will begin pool play Friday at the St. Henry Athletic Complex, in Florence.
Caldwell County is in Pool D for the tournament, along with Whitesville Trinity, Bardstown, and Harlan. The Lady Tigers open tournament play Friday evening at 8:00, when they take on Whitesville Trinity. The Lady Raiders enter the tournament at 11-6. Just for comparison sake, both teams have played Daviess County, with Caldwell County winning 3-1 and Whitesville Trinity losing 2-1.
The Lady Tigers get right back to action Friday evening at 8:45, as they will take on Harlan. The Lady Dragons, out of Region 13, enter the tournament at 10-8, with most of their matches being played against teams out of eastern Kentucky and Tennessee.
Pool play will conclude Saturday morning for Caldwell County, as they take on Bardstown at 10:30am. Bardstown is 16-1 on the season, with their only loss coming to Elizabethtown. The question about Bardstown will be competition, as those Lady Tigers have played very little outside of the 5th Region.
Once pool play is completed Saturday morning, championship bracket play will begin at 12:00pm. The winner and the runner-up from each bracket will advance to the championship bracket. The championship match is set for 3pm Saturday afternoon.
