VIDEO – Trigg Runners Rally Around Fallen Coach

11-4-trent

On the eve of their run in the Class 2A State Cross Country Championship, Trigg County was rocked when Coach Ken Harrison suffered a heart attack at the team meal Friday night.  Harrison was admitted to a Lexington hospital and was scheduled for surgery Saturday.  Trigg was fortunate that a coach from Graves County was able to drive the team bus back to their hotel Friday night.  Tim Bush, assistant football coach and father of runner Rylee Bush, drove in from Elizabethtown Saturday, the morning after their football loss to E-town, and Tim drove the team bus back to Cadiz.

Assistant Coach Trent Ricks coached the team at the state meet in Harrison’s absence, and given what had transpired, felt the team ran well.

UPDATE: Coach Harrison will have quintuple bypass heart surgery Monday in Lexington.  We wish him the best and a speedy recovery.
