The Christian County girls’ soccer team started slowly in 2017, losing 10 of their first 11 matches, but finished winning 4 of their last 8. The Lady Colonels scored only 9 goals while allowing 70, finishing with a 5-13-1 record after losing to UHA in the first round of the 8th District tournament. They haven’t won a post-season game since making the district championship game in 2012.
The Lady Colonels look set for an improved season in 2018. They only graduate 4 seniors, and return the core of their team, including juniors Briana Rubio, MacKenzie Almy, and standout goalkeeper Payton Hale. Sophomore Brianna Igo will be back as well, with members of a 10-win junior varsity team ready to step in and push the older players.
