We enter the last week of the high school basketball regular season and we have a new team atop this week’s YourSportsEdge.com’s Second Region girls’ basketball rankings.

Webster County (23-6) – The Lady Trojans ended the regular season with a six-game winning streak, which included a 46-41 win over previous No. 1 Christian County. After playing in the district tournament at Henderson County next week, the Lady Trojans will host the Second Region Tourney.

Christian County (19-6) – The Lady Colonels have dropped two straight games after winning nine straight – which coincides with the injury to starter Aaliyah Hampton. Christian County will close out the regular season at home against No. 3 Henderson County Thursday..

Henderson County (12-11) – No one in the region has played a tougher schedule over the past two weeks than the Lady Colonels, who have a win over Marshall County and losses to state-ranked South Warren and Owensboro Catholic.

Hopkinsville (18-8) – The Lady Tigers have won four of five games and will host South Warren Thursday to close out the regular season. They will likely get a third shot at Christian County in the district tournament next week.
