Despite an unbeaten week that included a win over No. 7 Madisonville, Christian County dropped two spots in the latest Kentucky Softball Coaches Association Top 25 Poll released Sunday.

The drop may have had to do more with what two Louisville schools ahead of them did last week. Ballard knocked off top-ranked Scott County 1-0 Tuesday, while No. 4 Male beat Pulaski County, a team just outside the top 25, 5-0.

Madisonville, who dropped consecutive games to No. 3 Christian County and No. 14 Marshall County, moved up a spot to No. 6 in the poll. Marshall County dropped two spots to No. 16 despite an unbeaten week and a win over Madisonville.

Webster County (31), Caldwell County (10), and Trigg County (8) also received votes in the poll, thought to be the first time Trigg County has received more than one vote in the coaches’ poll.
