A three-way tie in points for the Second Region Boys’ Tennis title saw Madisonville win a tie-breaker and Hopkinsville finish as region runner-up.
Caldwell County joined the other two teams in the tie-breaker, with overall percentage of matches won used to break the deadlock. Madisonville won 66.6-percent of their matches, followed by Hopkinsville (60-percent), and Caldwell County (57.8-percent).
Caldwell County lost a similar tie-breaker to Hopkinsville last year to determine the girls’ region champion.
Hopkinsville will be sending Edward Lee Major and Newcomb Maddux to the KHSAA State Tennis Tournament as individuals and Morgan Demps and Noah Morris on the doubles side.
