Austin Peay State University’s athletics department announced Monday it will conduct a national search for its head softball coaching position. The search begins after Rodney DeLong departed June 13 to accept a similar position at North Texas and assistant coaches Dillon Bryant and Jamie Allred departed to join DeLong at North Texas.
In their lone season in Clarksville, DeLong and his staff led the Governors softball program to a program-record 39 victories. Austin Peay finished second in the Ohio Valley Conference regular season race and third in the OVC tournament. The Governors were selected to participate in the National Invitational Softball Championship at season’s end.
