Pauline White is in the record book as one of the fastest girls to lace up the spikes for Trigg County’s track and field team.
White was a three-time state champion in the 100-meter dash and a three-time state champion in the 200-meter dash. The only time in her high school career that she did not win the state title in those events was her sophomore year where she was returning to the track weeks after an appendectomy. She still finished second in the 100 and third in the 200 meters.
Her six individual state championships are the most for a Trigg female and tied with Hall of Famer Sam Love for the most of any Trigg runner.
Pauline’s time of 12.41 seconds in the 100-meter dash in 1999 is third-fastest in school history and her time of 25.48 seconds in the 200 meters 2002 is the best in school history.
She ran the anchor leg of the 400-meter relay team that twice won a state title and the 800-meter relay team that won one state title. The 400-meter relay team set a new Class A state record in 2002 with a time of 50.16 seconds.
Her nine combined state championships are the most of any Trigg track and field athlete.
Pauline was also a standout on the basketball floor where she finished her career with 1,193 points, which was sixth most in school history. She also grabbed 698 career rebounds, which was sixth most in school history and her 388 career steals remain a school record.
She led the Lady Wildcats in scoring in 1998-99 (10.1); 2000-01 (12.8); and 2001-02 (14.7) and was named All-District three times.
