ESPN’s College GameDay will make their return to sacred Rupp Arena for one college basketball’s most significant matchups of the season. On Saturday, January 26th, the Kentucky Wildcats will play host to the Kansas Jayhawks in Lexington.
Calling Saturday’s game will be Jay Bilas, Dan Shulman and Maria Taylor. The crew of Bilas, Jay Williams, Rece Davis and Seth Greenberg will begin the game’s preview at 11 A.M. that morning, with admission gates opening at 9 A.M. The price of admission is free and seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Rupp Arena’s bag policy will be in full-effect, which states bags will not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″. Signs of fans will be permitted, but are subject to screening for the telecast.
Against the Jayhawks, Kentucky is 22-9 in the series but the Wildcats are also losers of three-straight. Their latest loss came in 2017 at Rupp Arena, falling victim to the Jayhawks in a 79-73 decision with the GameDay crew in attendance.
Kansas will be without their star big man, Udoka Azubuike. Azubuike suffered a hand injury earlier this month and was then declared OUT for the remainder of the season. That won’t keep the Jayhawks from being a tough out, though, as they’re 15-2 on the season with five top-25 wins over Michigan State, Oklahoma, TCU, Tennessee and Villanova.
Tip-off for Saturday’s game is set for 6 P.M. EDT on ESPN with on-air coverage provided by 106.5 WKDZ radio.
